DESCRIPTION

During an ongoing renovation, we are called upon to bring it to completion while remaining consistent with what has already been established. Additionally, we are tasked with designing an internal staircase in a particularly challenging location. The building in question was Einstein’s residence during his stay in Italy, in the province of Pavia. The existing shapes and decorations, already in place upon our arrival, are quite imposing. However, they are not solely the expression of the architect but rather the genuine way in which the client chooses to express himself. We proceed with their completion, collaborating with local decorators and artisans.

Considering the staircase’s size, elevation setting, and location, we propose an entirely glass construction, including the steps. To our client’s delight (who also happens to be our accountant), he says, “Go ahead.” We industrialize the design, meticulously studying three-dimensional fixing solutions and creating prototypes. Everything is set and ready, but at the last moment, the client decides to have wooden steps installed.
