To resolve the situation, we opted for a banal corrugated aluminum sheet, of the type used for industrial roofing, with low cost and weight, attached to the existing substructure, suitably reinforced and adequate. The design of the facade, although designed to have different possible configurations, has the constant feature of facilitating assembly/disassembly, and eliminating all overlaps and closing profiles, resulting in a low cost of both construction and maintenance.

Given the shape of the building, the façade scales upwards, in order to compensate for the dimensional differences of the existing structure, and has paneling that is not equally divided, but more concentrated towards the upper part in order to have the profiles of heavier substructure attached directly to the reinforced concrete.

This setting bring a costs reduction of about 65% (from 250 euro/m2 to 100), and allows for different configurability, without compromising costs and safety.

The building was built in the 1970s to attract attention, an architecture on the outskirts of a small country village. Its façade, created with the techniques of the time, has resisted the wear and tear of time too much, and today needs to be replaced. The project proposes on an architectural scale the compositional simplicity of the furnishings that are sold inside the showroom, ennobling a poor material such as corrugated sheet metal through a composition that transforms a structural geometry into a decoration. People are encouraged to influence the composition before its final creation, living on a macro-scale the experience of participation that customers have when they come here to rethink their interiors.
